Welcome Oliver!

We are excited to announce that Oliver Pichardo Peguero has joined the Chan Lab!
Brief bio: Oliver was born in Santiago, Dominican Republic and grew up in San Juan, Puerto Rico. He attended the University of Puerto Rico, Río Piedras Campus and graduated with a BS in Chemistry and Modern Languages with emphasis in French and Mandarin Chinese. As an undergraduate student, he was a member of his institution’s National Institute of Health-Research Initiative for Scientific Enhancement (NIH-RISE) Program. This opportunity permitted him to research under the supervision of Dr. Dalice Piñero Cruz the interference caused by (NBu4)2[Ni(dmit)2] in the relaxation of MnCl2, a paramagnetic metal complex used as a magnetic resonance imaging contrast agent. Currently, Oliver is a pursuing a PhD in Chemistry at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign in the Chan lab.
